Prof. Tamayo, responsible of the Nanobiomechanics lab and Research Professor at IMN-CSIC has been award with the 2018 Physics, Innovation and Technology award. His upstanding work in biomechanics is an example of basic research in physics with huge impact in the society and industrial application. The use of new concepts and phenomena in the frontier of mechanics and optics has led to the development of novel nanosensors for the early diagnosis in cancer.
